Saving Our Democracy

Saving our Democracy

I often listen to NPR radio and I remember that recently they had a program on voting. They were concerned about the number of people who had not voted in quite a while. They spent much of the time on the program discussing identity cards and passports and all the things we need to prove that voters are legitimate.

I have a copy of a book called, ”When at Times the Mob Is Swayed; A Citizens Guide to Defending Our Republic.” The author is Burt Neuborne. Mr. Neuborne constitutional lawyer who has defended the Constitution 200 times. When people have gone astray, he is the guy that is called to bring people back into compliance with the Constitution.

I have a slightly different view. My name is Louis Kraus and I am the founder of Better Outcomes. The problem is that our system runs on money power that the positions generate elected. A study done in England long time ago revealed that everyone who enters politics does it as an idealist. They really want to fix things and think that they can do it. First thing that they realize they must negotiate. Then they realize that negotiating takes money the last step is that the money can be pocketed in various ways.

The study also showed that half of the people who enter politics leave before they become crooks.

We have a process that we call Candidate Conversations. Our process starts with the issues. We take all of the issues in a campaign and put them into Maslow’s Hierarchy. All of the issues very nicely spend a few minutes educating the audience so we are sure they understand how the hierarchy works.

This puts us in a position to be able to focus on a candidate’s character traits, their experience and education, how they were raised and how they view their jobs as politicians. This is the way we get to know the candidates and whether or not we should or should not cast our vote for them.
